my family ( well the wife actually makes all the decisions ) have decided to go camping.
So, Im about to purchase a roof box full of gear. ( tent: Diablo 900, 4 bags, airbeds, campingaz cooker, toilet, foldy chairs ( must match tent apparently ), coolbox, lighting, cuddly toy and fondue set.
( for about read this weekend 4th-6th august. )
Even found a site ( I think )
What else should I worry about ? should I worry about insurance. - last tent I bought( was given actually ) was more like a green poncho with some bungy cords. and insurance was govt issue too ( goes bang, one end dangerous )
Anyone who can help me get it right please help. i need to impress the kidies wo are quite likely to find the lack of tv, fridge and playstation a shock ( not to mention the toilet options )
A fold up table is a must, along with board games to play with the kids (we enjoy scrabble!). We use an aluminium table that folds up real small and is very light.
I wouldn't worry too much about buying a toilet though as all the sites we've been on have had a good toilet block, but thats up to you, obviously.
Lots of people use the electric hook up for a telly in the tent, but we're not quite that advanced yet! That maybe something you could look into, just follow the guidelines on this site and you won't go wrong.
Oh, and whatever amount of time you've set aside to pack the car, add an extra hour

Yep, we have recently purchased one of those tables, what difference it will make this year!! Especially as my niece will claim the table is for playing cards on for money!!
I would add a windbreak so you can actually use the cooker outside even a breeze can blow gas and it will take an age to boil a kettle, a table for me is a must. I personally wouldn't bother with a toilet. You have a cracking tent have a great time!
Hello and welcome,
I always take a spare bucket.no not for the toilet for keeping things like milk bottles of pop (beer) cool through the day, as long as its in the shade its pretty much ok.
The other thing you may find useful is taking a wok!! brilliant for getting the whole family's food cooked at once..with high sides so it desnt all go over the cooker...
Have fun most of all dont forget your sense of humour It is always needed whilst camping......
