Just how do you tie the damn things up properly? They always seem to dingle dangle out afterwards, most annoying!!

I always have trouble with this one, so my wife does it.
Starting at the top, wind the guy rope into loops about 11cm long. when you get to the last lenth rap this round the loops and tie it off.
Good luck

I use dave189's technique and my OH does the "wrap it loosely round your hand and use the last bit to tie it into a bundle" approach. So when we re both tying up guy ropes they look all different.....but either way is fine!

Fi - I didn't used to, but on bigger tents, loose guys can get very tangled together and with the tension straps etc and when you next get it out it can be very difficult figuring one end of the flysheet from the other...so I developed the habit!
