Its our first camping trip on the 26th of this month and after reading a few threads on here I am now worried if were all going to be warm enough at night. We have a 9 man tent for 6 of us, 2 adults, 4 and we have 300gsm and 400gsm sleeping bags.

can see there will be a problem as its not that cold yet,if you do find your cold just wear some extra clothes.
Thanks, bit short of cash at the moment so I could really do without buying a heater but if it really does make a difference and doesnt take too much leccy then I will.
We dont have a heater and camp this time of year. You will be fine.
Zip the tent and bedrooms up early in the evening - will help keep the damp out.
Wear an extra layer of clothes - fleece tops etc - they are light weight and warm.
Your body will also adapt to being outside - another thing we tend to do is shower in the morning - i find if you have a shower in the evening you dont warm up the same - maybe thats just me - doesnt always work i suppose if your covered in mud or something.
Take a few extra fleece blankets as a back up - and failing that have an extra glass of red wine !!
I would not worry for the end of this month - we are not talking snow in August (wups, now I open myself up to the elements!).
We are going away at the end of September and I will do the same as I have done all summer, which is basically an air bed and a sleeping bag.
If you are really worried (and you don't need to be), stick a silver heat defector from a car windscreen under your air bed/mat. It is the ground that is your problem, not the air.

First time campers should not be put off on their first trip by advice from old time campers saying put an extra jumper on!
If you are going with electric hook up then take a cheap fan heater and timer to keep clicking on and off throughout the night........if you find it too hot - just switch off.
DO take extra fleeces and bedsocks for night time too.......I have been camping many times and still take 'bed wear'
If you're paying for EHU anyway, then I'd get an inexpensive fan or halogen heater. You may not need it but then again it may make your experience more comfortable. If you're not planning on having EHU anyway then Bernie's suggestion of a gas lamp is a good one, provided you take suitable safety precautions with children around.
We take our greenhouse heater with us at it is drip and condensation proof. It also has a thermostat so switches itself off, and also acts as a fan if the weather is hot (I wish!)
