we only keep a small amount and use the cash back in local shops (most do it now) and we buy groceries by the day anyway usually (and cash machines)

yeah Im a member of the 'I go shopping everyday club' while hubby sits at home watching telly!!! oh and thats after I have worked all day 9 - 5.30!!!!

Our sleeping bag has a couple of little pockets with a velcro fastening on the INSIDE... suppose they would be good for keeping money in, if we had to.  Never used them tho!

well i only take with me about £3 because i dont go away camping as a holiday for me its chill out time so i take everything i need and the money for the pitch that i pay when i get there the £3 is for fresh milk and treats :)

Here's an idea..

Get yourself one of those lockable cash tins, you know the type, and weld it to the floor of the car, whereabouts in the car is up to you and the available space in car.

Hey ho instant safe.
I've known many cab drivers, me included, that have done this, even cut a small slot in the top so you dont have to open it to put money in it, most of the guys left the key at home so it couldnt be opened. Use it as a safe deposit box.
