Have you loked at the glue you can get in tubes if it is a straight tear. I had a rip in the Awning of my combi Camp, where the door met the window. Casey's suggested I used this tube to repair it. Ever the sceptic, I didn't expect it to really work, but it certainly did the business, and has lasteed three holidays. Being by the door, it also gets heavy usage in that area, and has stood up well.
Apparently they do a special glue for the tents as a separate proucts to canvas, so make sure you get the correct one if you decide to get one.It won't be the prettiest repair, but if you do it on the inside, it won't be that noticeable.
