i know it's been asked a zillion times but i don't know what tent to get and need some help. we have used our argos job (3 bedroom 8 man tent) twice now and two of the poles are bent and warped and the material at the top of the bedrooms is starting to fray. so, i'm thinking of getting a refund and getting a "quality" tent. these are my requirements ....
what about the vango oregon 800? that looks a bit better for us because there are 2 huge bedrooms so could put the kids in one and me and dh in the other, each with our own double beds? but i think it has a bathtub ground sheets, so will it still get drafty?

oh i'm still so confused!!
It will still be more drafty than a tent wit ha full SIG throughout the living area. The best full SIG tents are ones that go up outer first -so I second the SV8, but would also suggest you look at the Coleman Columbus 8, though the bedroom layout is different. These tunnel tents are also easier to put up than the big domes like the Harfords, Diablos etc
i know what you are going through i am doing the same thing myself and want the same spec as you! i have narrowed it down to sv8 or vango aspen 700 but that seems harder to put up and much heavier. good luck i for one am obsessed with buying the right tent, i have made a pledge to buy one of those tents before friday.
I have no idea about the Wynnster, but can definitely recommend the Aspen 700. We are new to camping and bought a 700 DLX and were well impressed. Once you have got over the initial pitching difficulties it really is a cracking tent. Loads of living space and large bedrooms which can be (almost) all as one or three separate rooms. Lots of clever storage, all in all couldn't fault it. Ok, its quite heavy when packed, but you only have to drag it out of the car next to your pitch!
or there's the coleman sahara! can't afford the montana 12 and the 6 doesn't have the right sleeping arrangements nor does the aspen, but thank you.
i think i'm beginning to narrow it down. the wynnster hawk is smaller in the living area than the sahara, which i'm fairly sure has a SIG, though i can't find that info on any of the sites. ARRRRGGH!
cancel that above about the sahara. just read some AWFUL reviews on it. now looking at sunncamp haven 800. can't find anywhere that have it in stock though.
flipping confusing this tent lark! i'm giving up and going to have a beer.
Hi Alisonjs, have you looked at the Aztec range of tents. Quailty is as good as all those already mentioned (Sunncamp, Outwell) but as these are not as heavily advertised / pushed or sold like tents like the montana, hartwell etc you can get a real good bargain. The Cantera 9 meets all your requirements, Full SIG. Very Large living area , Very easy to pitch, Tent sleeps six with ease and mainly you will get a lot of change out of £300. You can get them for sub £250 currently. I would highly recommend this tent as a good quality purchase.
i think i've confused everyone. when i said i wanted to sleep 6 comfortably what i should have said, to be clearer, is that i need 3 bedrooms. i need a 4+2+2. my dh and i have a room each (because we have the double blow up beds, each), then i have 3 children, so really they need a 4 berth room to be able to sleep the three of them in comfortably.
SIG is a MUST, otherwise we may as well keep our drafty argos one! i think i've looked at most of the ones that people have recommended, and i'm really grateful. i THINK that i've got it down to
Wynnster Hawk 8
Sunncamp Haven 800
Wynnster Mercury 9
think i've named them correctly. they seem to fill all our requirements with the sunncamp haven coming out tops due to large living area, the mercury 9 coming 2nd.
anyone comment on either of these i'd be most grateful. i've been doing searches as people have put suggestions up. i'd really like to thank you for helping. i just can't afford to get the wrong tent as i only have a limited budget and can't afford a mistake!!
