You can buy EHU at most camping & outdoor centres. They are ready made and the right rating for uk use. Don't try and make one yourself. Most are 10-16 amps.

I can recommend Goodyears Outdoors for EHU. I looked everywhere conceivable before purchasing and these were by far the cheapest for new. I purchased a 3 way EHU for £54 inc delivery which retails in Argos at £99 and most other outlets at around £70.

Next time out for the weekend is Sept 10/11 Malpas Steam Rally but no EHU there so will stick to the gas and rechargablel lamps
