I've just managed to break my first fibreglass pole on my Outwell sun valley 6 tent and wondered if anyone could clarify the exact size for a replacement and where I can get hold of one.  I contacted Outwell a few times and they told me 13.8mm diameter which doesn't seem to correspond exactly with the ones I've got (and on their website they quote 13.5mm!). Also the largest packs of Outwell replacement poles I've come across at most outlets is 12.7mm...

Thanks in advance for any help...

best thing to do is cart them (or "it" as you will have to unthread it anyway) off to the nearest camping shop they have usually got a supply, never mind if one is too long just cut it down and smooth the cut edge .remember you dont need to buy the complete pole just the broken section.
i am surprised there wasent a spare section with the tent.to re-thread simply put a thin knitting needle through with fine thread attached ,tie that to a thicker bit and use that to pull the elastic through the sections.
you can use a very slightly thicker section but it means a little work with a file to thin the ends so they fit in the ferrules either end (and if it goes through the guides).

We had 3 broken sections - in 2 poles from our Outwell Hartford XL. They told me to contact my nearest retailer - not the one I bought from - to arrange replacements. I paid £10 for 5 replacement bits. There was one spare then of the blue and the red.

They sent me whole new poles! In fact, they are slightly thicker than the old ones and the tent pitches much better and is more atable.
Mine were the 2005 version and they have obviously updated the 2006 ones.
