Yes, the are very sturdy/solid - I guess where the name "fortress" comes from - I camped in one last year. Very similar to a 2006 Montana in pole structure.

Big, tall tent (no SIG if you are bothered about that), with the ability to remove some of the bedroom pods to make a bit more space inside.

They were dicontinued in 2006, but if that is a new 2005 model for £125 I would say that is a very good price, a real bargain.

Yeah it just looked like a bargain.

To be honest last trip out in the Gelert the weather was terrible and it didnt fill me with confidence so I might go for a ebay cabanon

I just picked up a S/H Cabanon Pyramide 6 (2 year old) - excellent little'ish tent.

Definately keep your eys open.

Interesting, if you had the space to transport it, at £125 the Fortress, with the inners removed, would make the absolute best day tent. With the space and height, I would even (carefully) cook in it.

Anyone out there looking for a day tent?
