Anyone know anything good about re-shaping 'tent pegs'?
Had our first summer of camping and I don't have many proper shaped pegs left.
I spent about 10 minutes re-bending one in a vice last night and I'm sure it'll end up all curly again the next time I use it. I've seen some steel ones but they seem expensive.
Get some Delta Ground Anchors, they are great. You can get them from the shop on here or on ebay, if you mention you are a UKCS member you get a 10% discount. We had terrible weather on our last trip and the pegs didn't move despite several tents being flattened. You will never bend these out of shape as they are plastic and very tough!!! You will find lots of fans on this site!

Get some Delta anchors for your main guy ropes and some good quality either metal or plastic pegs for the rest of the points.

Thanks Minxie and rickit. You can also get them from www.deltagroundanchors.co.uk where you can find traditional stainless pegs at very low cost.

Delta Ground Anchors..the strongest, most secure tent pegs in the world! Nylon anchors twice as efficient as rock pegs in 'average' soil! Quality stainless pegs for tougher soil are available.
Went camping in my old frame tent this year, bought a load of metal pegs as the old ones were bent and rusted, then in the heavy wind and rain alot of the rubber rings came away from the pegs, so we bought some plastic ones on site. They hold the pegging points and the guys down really well, they dont bend or give. The only problem was they were a bugger to get out. But in a way thats a good thing.. HIGHLY RECOMEND PLASTIC PEGS!!
