Dont get me wrong, I love camping but its costing us a fortune in tents, i feel like giving up!!!
First we had a kos 6 which we had a couple of seasons ago, we never used it last year due to ill health, but started camping again this season in it, after about 5 uses the wind cought the frame as we was pitching it and it rolled over and bent 3-4 poles, we have tried to get these replared or replaced but with no luck. As we then had the camping bug we went out and brought a campus indiana 8 which we had 5 uses out of and at the bank holiday weekend while taking down the tent the wind caught the fabric and we had only un pegged half the tent so it ripped the flysheet right across the mudflap and halfway up the dorr AGGGRr.
We needed a new tent yet again, so off we trot to go out doors and pennies being tight we purchased an outwell hartford L with the canopy, which at the moment is great just far far to small in the bedrooms, we need bigger bedrooms, so we was thinking of an outwell nabraska xl or monty 12 but reading reviews on here im having second thoughts, so now i dont know what to do! We need a bigger tent, but i would like one to last more than a couple of months!
what bad luck youve had , no wonder you feel like giving up! could your indiana 8 not be repaired ! might be possible if you know anyone who s good with a sewing machine , also i d be tempted to see if i couldnt pick up a cheap second hand kos 6 off ebay or from the classified adds, doesnt matter if the fabrics damaged , you only need the poles , would be cheaper than spending money on yet another new tent .
Have a looksee at the Vango Aspen 700 ,cheeper that the mony and a huuuuge cetral bedroom and 2 smaller ones ,all bedrooms are full height ,check it out it might be what your after ? plus it would take hurricane to shift the bugger!
We had a Campus Breckenridge Deluxe before we went for the easier-to-erect Monty 12. We don't usually go for tunnel tents, but this one just has soooo much going for it. Erects all in one, full SIG's, lots of variation with the bedroom pods's which have full head-height throughout. Combine that with a side canopy and you have one heck of a great tent.
In the end though, it all comes down to personal choice. I would have a good look around some showrooms and see if you can pick up a bargain in the sale.

And there are some good bargains to be had, have you seen this offer on the Vango Aspen DLX by Somerset Camping on ebay? (Then you, like Scatty, can camp in a tellytubby house!)
If you want a cheap bargain, without floppy small bedrooms, then someone posted that Centre Caravans are selling the 2005 Sunncamp Fortress 12 (big, full height, bedrooms) for £125 - last year it was a £400+ tent.
