We have noticed patches (at the door) inside our tent were some careless person has brushed againest the material. That careless person was me when I was half asleep and stood up before the door was fully open!!! Can you get anything to replace the "waterproof" coating or can I just use something like nikwax as it is only a small area?

I dont see that brushing against a tent material should distroy the waterproofing

Dito that it,brushing against it wont make any differerence to the waterproofing....could it be a fault in the original waterproofing or has it had some type of solvent spilt on it eg meths, white spirit which will harm the proofing but is hard to see a stain .... jst a thought ???

Are you sure that you caused the marks you can see? From your description I don't think you did. Sometimes there are patches where the waterproofing was not applied evenly. I always check a new tent over for patches like these and treat them with fabsil on the outside.
