Me and the OH have been toying with the idea of moving up to a tin tent lately, but after looking around at what is available and also reading some horror stories from people who have bought caravans, we decided to stay tentophiles (I know, no such word !).

So, yesterday we took a drive to the United British Caravan site near Newcastle to look at their display of tents.

We had seen the Gelert Quebec 8+4 before and after we had camped a few times this year decided that this model had all the features that we wanted in a tent.(SIG, high rooms, big living space) and after looking around their displays, confirmed  that this definitely suited our needs. And to top it all, it is on sale for only £125 !!!!! so that was it. We are now the owners of a Gelert Quebec  !!

Has anyone else picked up a deal like this ??

Hopefully, we can get away for a weekend before the weather starts turning bad !!

I got a porch awning from them (ones being advertised on UKCS) at serious reduced rate.

Did you pick up any plastic delta pegs? They last had them on sale for 45p, a must at that price.

I would suggest you give them a ring and they will give you the stand price.

The awning I got from them was £40 cheaper at he shop than on the web.

I think the shipping is free too or a few quid.

Hi Shielsy, yes i saw the plastic delta pegs also but i had bought a bundle of them a few months ago. (oh well ! ) they are excellent too !!   I was like a kid in a sweet shop looking around their showroom !!

I also pointed out to my OH what Santa could bring if he visited me !!!  

Hey Big Bunny, thats some collection of tents !!! how do you choose which one is right for the occasion ?

Also, we tried putting our new tent up earlier this evening. It only took 20 minutes to erect the inner. -- I was as chuffed as muck !!!
