My son had a tent for a festival, came home and put it away with mud on/possibly damp too. Is it any good salvaging it? This was last year!

Is there mildew on the tent fabric? Have you checked it over, to assess the damage?

Haven't looked at it yet! I keep putting it off but seems a shame as it could be used. I dont't even know how to erect a tent I'm hopeless. Is it relatively straightforward? I've only been camping in a friend's tent before so I don't know much about it.
