We have recently been camping and got caught in torrential rain .
When we got home you guessed it we forgot to air the tent , now the inner compartment has got mould on it.
The question is can anybody PLEASE advise on the best way to treat this problem or is it sadly too late
thankyou in ancitpation

Try treating the patches with diluted Milton Sterilising Fluid. This will kill the spoors and prevent the spread but it doesnt get rid of the discolouration. Your inner tent will still be useable though.

Can you fit your inner tent in a washer? After using the Milton, you could give it a wash to get rid of the pong?

I have successfully treated mildew with a 10% Milton solution on a whole flysheet, which could not go in a washer anyway - but I did find that the marks faded in the sun, so if you can't get the inner in a washing machine after the Milton treatment you can always hang it in the sun(!? sometime next spring??!!) to see if that reduces the marks.

Treat the patches with Milton, then put the inner into a bathtub filled with warm soapy water and jump up and down on it a bit. Then put it on the washing line and rinse well. Or use a kiddy paddling pool.
Or go to the launderette and use one of their big machines.

Hi Heggs, after cleaning it with Milton, how about going to the Launderette, their machines are usually bigger, so it should fit in there, and as a bonus you can dry it as well. Dont get it too hot though!
