It arrived this morning ,and it looks neat - very compact and I guess it will also be easy to carry erect and dry out when you need to hang it up after a weekends worth of condensation forming on it.
I bought it specifically for short (weekend) only trips when I attend M/cycle rallies - Im only in the tent for shuteye - so for this, its going to be fine,
I have a simalar tent made by pro action (probably their best tent) and it does stand up to the weather great survived 2 great thunderstorms with no water ingress, only fault is lack of space for gear, there is enough to lie in it and kip and that is about it
It looks rather similar to my Cobra (see my gallery)
I tend to find that there is room for some gear inside, but bulkier gear has to be stored between the inner and the flysheet. I secure my kit with a small lock and cable.
I bought my mattress from Decathlon, and love it.
Its rather too heavy for backpacking, but is ideal for vehicle camping, and folds up to about the same size as my tent.
Matty, if you are going to be bike camping why not use a standard 2 man dome with porch, weight and pack difference is mininal and you have space for the gear. something like the vango delta
TBH if I had known how small the coffin was I wouldnt have bought it as it is just too small for me to lie down in (I'm 6'4") hence why even if i'm on my own I will use the wynnster buzzard, great as a 2 man tent as you only put up one bedroom giving a big living/storage area
i use a thermarest pro lite 4 when wildcamping.it rolls up smaller than my tent but is expensive.gooutdoors sell a similar mat made by robens.its not on their website though but it is in store at coventry.its also only 2.5cm thick whereas my prolite is 4cm thick. the vango tempest 150, 200, and 300 tents are very good tents with lots of space and can be picked up fairly cheap if you hunt round on the net.i have the 200 and its been great.if you want a bombproof tent then get the terra nova voyager, its a fantastic tent.cost me £225 from cheaptents.com but worth every penny.
I'd be very wary of going out in any kind of wet weather with a tent with HH of only 1500mm. However at just £17 it is cheap enough to be disposable if it doesn't perform very well.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
