I liked the Biscaya when I looked at the original one but didn't like the lack of mud flaps. It seemed to me that if you zipped the ZIG out to let air in and it rained you were going to get a flood!!
Do you think this is the same (not that I've got a grand to spend on a tent!!) ------------- Piglet

It claims to be an eight-berth, but is there a dividing curtain in those bedroom inners?

(Looks like the hoop for the attached porch/sun canopy is the same dimensions as those for the main tent; i.e. all 320 wide, so should be quite easy to pitch with identical frame sections.)
It is also quite a bit smaller than, say, the Biscaya 500 (320 wide, as opposed to 500) so should be quicker to pitch and easier to fit onto a pitch, if you are prepared to trade living space for bedrooms.

Forgive a relative newbie but why is this so much more expensive than other 8 person tents which seem to have more separated sleeping room?
In any event, my bank manager says I can't afford it.

I have to agree with you, A.P., if you have a look at the standard Biscaya 320 you will see that the bedroom inner does slope considerably and the living area is limited. I see that the pole positioning on this vis-a-vis means that the bedroom slope is addressed but, given the footprint - this tent is a lot smaller than it might appear in the image - it is a lot of money for what is essentially two (undivided) bedroom inners.
The Barbados offers similar accommodation for a much reduced price, as you say, and is quicker and easier to pitch.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a magic wand we could use to wave round and change our tent for what ever took our fancy, It would have to pitch it and stuff it with our gear as well. if only pigs could fly etc etc etc. How will we resist buying a new tent in 2007.
