Can anyone advise me here? It says on the Sunncamp website that this tent has (amongst other things):-
Groundsheet for porch area
Extended rear porch
What porch? What do they mean?
See the page here:-

Sorry Markos, I removed my posting as when I was looking at the floor layout I mistook the pantry / hanging wardrobe area for the rear porch. I cannot ever remember seeing a rear entrance to these tents when we have looked.

Hi
The Vario range (2006 onward) has no porch area, so no ground sheet. There is no rear porch. The pre 2006 models had a front panel which moved backwards and the tent didnt have a SIG which they now have.
It must be a an error.
Regards
Gary/midg

Just had an email back from my daughter as she lives 250 miles from me, they have the Vario 600 Plus and think it`s brilliant but it has NO rear porch/groundsheet as others have said. It is exactly as in the pictures in the first posting.

Indeed, a nice person from Sunncamp has just responded to my email about the porch and they tell me:-
2005 Vario is the model with the removable front panel that could be moved back to provide a porch. This cannot be done with the SIG (on the 2006 model) although there is a canopy available as an optional extra for this version. (‘Groundsheet for porch area’ and ‘stable type front door’ are typing errors that related to 2005).
I also asked them about any likely upgrades to the Vario range for 2007 and they said:-
The Vario range for 2007 is not changed from the improved version for 2006 which included the SIG.
I have just got to wait now until February / March when I should be able to find someone with stock of the 2006 600 Plus.

Hi There
Thoroughly recommended. I have one, no porch but great, huge living area, lots of natural light, sky lights. The only tent I have been happy to sit in all day when it rains due to the light.
Only downside is the window curtains close on the outside and to have them fully rolled up will let in rain as it exposes the netting.
There is no way to keep the tent ventilated and cool without the windows rolled up. I personally like to have the windows down when away from the tent cut down opportunist stealing

Hi
We have the vario 900 which is similar but with a detachable annex. I agree that these tents are roomy with great headroom and lots of windows, we love ours as it provides the space needed for 3 boisterous boys and if the weather is bad there is still plenty of room inside. We did have a few teething problems with the side doors leaking at the zips but seam sealant sorted that out and we've been happy ever since, wind or rain!! Bearing in mind that we haven't camped without a storm this year and have used it on many occasions, it has held up extremely well and we're very pleased.
