We bought both our tents and our readybeds from ebay sellers (private sellers) and got absolute bargains. I also bought a folding bed from cybercheckout which is brilliant and our folding kitchen from another ebay shop. My advice is check how much things are for sale on the web generally before bidding on ebay. The best bargains are when you can pick up if the item is local - then you don't have to pay high postage costs. Search for items which are less than 10 miles from your postcode. I've been really surprised that people seem to bid over the actual web-shops selling price sometimes as much as £20. Do your research on price first and check feedback - don't go for under 98%.
One thing I have found to help with buying on ebay is this web site.www.toolhaus.orl/cgi-bin/negs if you put an ebay user id on this site it will show all of there negative feedback with out having to go though all there feedback..

There are loads of really helpful folk on here - Im a newbie too I have really appreciated all the help I have had Thanks Guys & Gals!
My first tent was bought from cyber checkout an 8 berth Aukland. These are currently retailing at £80 ish and I think well worth the money. The transaction was smooth without problem.
i too bought the 8 berth auckland...and i soon sold it on ! the bedrooms sagged, the tent didnt reach the floor so was nice and windy at night time and when it rained AAAAGGGHHHH ! never again.
Each person to their own, if you think its a bargain then great.
As for the transaction, yes it went very smooth, cant fault it really.
