Firstly i'll say hi, and what a wonderfull resource and site this is!!

Right my main point of the post:

I am looking to purchase a new tent for this season, i have narrowed down my search to 3 models

The Gelert Lokon Vario 4 - 139.99 from wildday.co.uk     OR

The Outdoor Revolution VRX 500S - 5 Berth Tent - 114.99 from this site shop OR

Vango Oregon 600 Family Tunnel Tent - 119.95 from outdooraction.co.uk?

Is there any advantages or disadvantages between the two models stated?

Is the vango with a sewn in ground sheet a better idea?

Any other models to consider for the price and size?

Thanks in advance!

Carl

Hi

Ok we have an idea of budget, but how many people will be going camping with you?

And would you prefer independent grounddheets or sewn in?

Any other requirements eg bedrooms next to each other, easy pitch, etc?

TTFN

PS also look at the other 'newbie' type threads as some great bargains have been sourced by others!

Thanks for the swift reply.

Right it will mainly be me and the other half, but would like the option for it to be used by myself and a few friends if required. Ideally 2 sleeping compartments, not important if they are next to each other.

Would like to have the idea of leaving a sleeping compartment out if needed and increasing the living space.

Thanks

Then get a tunnel tent, where the bedrooms are at each end - this means that you don't have to put up the second bedroom and you would have the extra space. For the money, the Vango Oregon 600, you list above would work well in this regard.

Yep, you could also remove the smaller bedroom inner in the Oregon when it is not required, thus increasing living space, and utilise the front door, which would make it quite a versatile option.

Have just spotted the Vango Colorado 600 Tent, Would there be much difference in this and the Oregon in terms of ease of pitching etc. The reason i ask is the Colorado is a bit taller and i am 6'6" so a bit of extra height would be good!
