Hi was ringing around today to find larger pitches for our antares 17 and was informed by Haven at Perrenporth that our tent was too big for there pitches to book online and to call them for a price. So i called only to be informed that although larger tents can sometimes be accomodated there is a maximum of 8 people per tent due to insurance restrictions.I have never camped anywhere with these rules before,is this common?

Hi

Haven are a big group and as such have maybe more rules. Site that are owned by a family say tend to be more flexible. Your tent is a big one but im sure you will find  sites that will be ok. You may have to purchase two pitches but if you have a large tent and more than say 5 people staying it will still be good value.

Regards

Gary

Hi, we have a Nabraska XXl which is a large tent, we have stayed at a few of haven sites and had no problems.  If i book on line i choose to have the awning space.

I would never stay at a site if i had to pay for 2 pitches, we only have our tent.  Our friends have a fair size tent a day tent and a pup tent as well as a wind break all on the same pitch.  Cant see the difference realy.

We have stayed at Rockly Park, Blue Dolphin and Burnam on sea.  Have boked for Lakeland for the Bank holiday.

Hope you find what you want.
