Hi there, Help wanted - -

Were off up to Coniston in Cumbria for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.  Going to try to book in at Coniston Hall.

Just wondered what pegs will be best for pegging our tent out up there, just have the pegs that came with tent at the moment - will we need to get some different ones?

Maz

The ground isn't too bad at Coniston Hall, the standard metal pegs that came with the tent should be ok.

Maza the most important thing you can do is to learn how to pitch, guy and peg your tent properly. Make sure you use all the guy ropes at the right angle for your tent and don't put more than one guy on a peg no matter how nice the weather looks!!

I've seen tents tunnel tents and domes with all the guys on one side put onto one peg in the middle and more tents than I can count with most of their guys rolled up still!

Manufacturers are keen to save a buck, if they didn't need to put them there they wouldn't bother!!

Thanks Bernie!

Must remember the mallet - last time I forgot and was first on the field and had to find a nice stone to bash the pegs in...
