Visited Woolies yesterday and purchased a mains clip on light with plug and switch for £2.99.The clip will fit onto the poles of a frame tent, fitted with 2m of cable,i found it in the electric section.
With the switch it is ideal for the sleeping pod as well.
Passed the kids stage, shades are cheap and i dont intend to have them at ground level. At the end of the day it will be higher than most cookers, heaters and toasters which also get hot and give shocks.
I have seen numerous campers use table lamps, these are small and more practiable.
we have one of these lights but have not used it yet. We will clip it to the hanger in the roof of the tent (all our poles are on the outside) I was worried about the bulb scorching the fly though, would the addition of a small shade and the use of an low energy bulg solve this problem do you think?
