It took us about three hours (including the hour head scratchin) first time and to be honest we haven't got an awful lot quicker. OH is a perfectionist and insists on pegging it out himself so with two of you it should be quicker. We have got it down to about one and half to two hours and we certainly don't rush
There will be plenty of people who tell you the can do it in 45 mins but I just don't see how!
Having said that it is a fab tent and wouldn't swap it, me and the kids start unpacking as OH is pegging ( and repegging). so just allow yourself plenty of time and enjoy it -its all part of the fun
hiya guys, had my diablo 900 for appox 2 yrs now. Not put it up as much as i would like but can usually do it in about 60mins but thats not pegging the ropes out etc!!
its usually me and my 2 kids who put it up with a bit of help from passers by to get the top sheet over the tent!!
With our weather i guess you need to get it up fast!
Another tip is to put a ground sheet underneath the tent so if it does rain the tent stays clean when your packing it away.
Anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes for me. OH and kids bugger off and explore upon arrival leaving muggins to pitch solo, saying that I do get help with the outer sheet.
Due to this timescale, we are currently looking at other smaller tents for weekend stayovers, towards the end of last summer I was pegging out in the dark !!! (Khyam Yale is current front runner).
Diablo (great tent) will be used for long weekends and weeks away.
I had a Diablo 900 it use to take my Daughter and my self 1hour 30min to 2hours to put it up Brill tent when up. My Husband brought me a Sun Valley 8 for Christmas hoping it will be quicker to pitch
I would say that it takes us about an hour all in to pitch our Diablo. It is ceratinly a 2 man job and if you dont support the main poles as the dome goes up you seriously run the risk of sanpping a pole or two. You will soon get into a routine when pitching and the real holdup is when pitching the outer. The best way to do this to peg the outer down at one end and then pull it against the wind (inflating it) over the tent. Always use temporary pegging just to set the tent out then fiddle until you are happy with the way the tent is sitting and then peg out properly.
we have the same tent, we fell in love with it, bought it, then read the reviews on this site about putting it up! we were going to have a trial run in a local field but then decided to just go on holiday and hope for the best, we were really worried about the ones we'd read on a 3 hour put up. we 've just come back from a fantastic easter break in wales where our first put up took us exactly 55 minutes from start to guy ropes pegged out! we thought we'd done something wrong from the reviews we'd read since last september, but no, it was perfect and easy to live in and only took 45 mins to take down and pack (in a wind) what a lovely tent!!!
