Am on the point of buying one of these tents - does anyone have any experience of them - either good or bad? It is for 2 adults and 3 children under 10. We need a big space inside in case of dodgy weather...will probably just use for weekends and maybe the odd festival.  Any info appreciated...

Can't help with this I'm afraid - you don't hear much about Litchfields any more, it's as if they've gone out of fashion.  It's all about Vango, Outwell and Khyam nowdays.  I'ts probably of no relevance whatsoever now but my much used Litchfield (see gallery) is about 20 years old and has lived through some punishing times (including scout camps and a group of teenage boys taking it touring on the continent for 3 weeks) and has never let in a drop of water or let me down in any way.  Still has the original poles and guy lines!

Vango and Lichfield are part of the same company (AMG Group) or so I believe, my first ever tent was a Lichfield...

are lichfield has been fine , kept us dry in more than one rain storm ,

some people look at tent makes, like they look at car models.  if you get a hh rating over 3000 that will be OK for the British summer.

Thanks for those posts people - you've said nothing to put me off, and I think it might come at a bargain price so I'll probably go for it.

We have a Lichfield cascade 6DLX - fantastic tent! There is so much room in the living space, so even when the rain comes down, there's loads of room for me and hubby and 3 kids. Would highly recommend.

Hi Dovey

Wondered whether you went ahead with your purchase. Would be nice to know what you thought of the tent if you bought it.

Disaster struck with the tent purchase - it was an ebay bargain but someone outbid me with seconds to go... so it's back to the drawing board.

I've got a few more weeks to go before the first outing of the year....
