Hi.I'm Tony from the North East (Hartlepool). Wife isn't interested in camping at all but daughter is, and I'm quite missing it! I understand there's a northern camping club on here -the Nutters? I'm just wondering how I can join up with you lot for a few events/beer etc.

Happy to drive anything up to 150 miles from Hartlepool, as long as beer is involved!

Hi Tony! How about 167 miles? That would take you to Inverkeithing where the Nutters and the DSG group are meeting next month. Thread here. If you're brave enough to face the basic camping conditions plus a double helping of camping groups you'd be very welcome - and I'm sure there will be plenty of beer!

Haha! Once we've sat for long enough round the campfire and we all smell nicely smoked, all other odours are masked!

Seriously though, there are showers at the nearby leisure centre which is about five minutes away in the car. They charge a couple of pounds or so as I remember.

The toilets are a unique experience. The thought is scarier than the reality, and you soon get used to them when there's no alternative.

The site has such a great character and is really beautiful. The Nutters are going to face it for the first time so you won't be alone.

Okay Tony, you have six weeks to psych yourself up. You won't regret it!
