Hello All
The temperature is finally into double figures and it's time to be outdoors - so if anyone is interested in a few days camping / walking / eating cake from 6th June onwards please let me know!
I'm not too worried where so all ideas welcome :-)

I am always up for eating cake...oh, and occasionally go camping and walking too. I generally stay within a two hour drive of Winchester in Hampshire these days which covers an area from Gloucestershire to Oxfordshire and down to the south coast via Wiltshire and Somerset to Dorset and Sussex. Would help if we knew which area of the globe you go camping in.

Hi
Like I said, not too worried where, maybe should have specified within the UK though?!
I'm just looking for an excuse to go somewhere different
- anywhere that has lots of footpaths (& cake shops!) -
and make some new camping buddies at the same time :-)

Hi Little Blue
I'm a Solo camper I live in Cambs, occasionally visit Norfolk for a weekend break Friday to Sunday, spent last weekend at a site called Karma Farm, in Isleham, its an Eco site so quite basic. There are walks just off site along the River Lark. I only walked along the banks but there are other walks leading off which I plan to look at another time. A 1 mile walk to the village 2 or 3 pubs and a Co-op sort of shop which does sell cakes. For a quiet place to camp I really recommend. You are out in the country surrounded by fields and the River Lark. Its the sort of place which I would call (the back of beyond). If you need any further information or photos of site and surroundings let me know.

I'm planning to be in Cornwall mid-July so could have a couple of nights in Dorset before or after that?, any particular area? :-)

My favourite area is Swanage which is surrounded by decent campsites. My favourite campsite is Toms Field which is at Langton Matravers. It is a quiet site with a small shop and has everything you need. Local pub in the village. 3 miles easy walk along pavements into Swanage or bus stop outside. Alternatively, the south coast path can be reached across fields directly from the campsite then walks along the cliff tops in either direction.

Swanage has a lovely sandy beach or further eastwards is Ballard Down with Old Harry Rocks and then arguably the best beach on the south coast at Studland.
