Personally, I (and my dog) and quite a few others on here frequently caravan/MH/tent alone. Camp sites are generally friendly places, so striking up conversation with others is easy enough for a bit of social interactivity. I don't have security fears on reputable sites, and I have enough interests in the area I've picked to keep myself more than busy enough. So I'm happy enough to set off on my own without worries, as are the others it seems. On any given camp site, you will often encounter solo campers, seems a popular way for solo folks to get away.
If you Google 'Solo campers/caravan/MHs' you will find a number of 'clubs' that organise camping get togethers for singletons, sometimes with a theme or schedule of 'visits', other times just to give solos a bit of a social gathering.
Have a look through the threads in the Meeting Up forum & the Solo Campers forum here on UKCS. And the one called Other Outdoor Activities which may have information.
And welcome to UKCS.
The OP has a post in the Solo Section and has thrown open an invite, which has now passed.
It would be great to know if they had a meet or not.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I'm looking to join up with like minded solo campers.
I live in N Wales and willing to travel, my outfit is a teardrop caravan towed by a Vauxhall Mokka.
I've been on a number of trips in the last x2yrs but prefer some company and have a shared expedition.
I'm a senior citizen so obviously not into very physical camps but enjoy the outdoor experience and comaraderie.
Let me know if you are interested in joining a joint trip in the UK.
Please contact Admin and ask to be put in touch with the UKCS solo and single parent group.
They have set up a WhatsApp group.
Good luck.
Like Monty, I prefer to camp alone when I go camping, as I don't want to spend my time away according to other people's schedules and their needs and wants. I may be very sociable at other times, however, I truly like to be left to my own accord when it comes to camping.
