I seem to be having the exact opposite problem to being a solo camper!
I LIKE going away, just me and the dog, I WANT to be solo, but on learning of my planned trips, friends want to tag along - NOOOO! 'I want to be alone' to quote a famous actress (well at least one of her characters did!).
Have I got to go on 'stealth holidays', not telling anyone I'm going away? - then I'll have well meaning friends getting the Police to break my front door down on a 'welfare check' 'cos they haven't seen me around, and I didn't say I was going away!!!!
How exactly do you tell a friend "F*** O**, you aren't coming!" without killing a friendship stone dead!
I can relate to this as a nephew of mine has recently suggested accompanying me on a trip next year. He used to love going down Cornwall with us when we had a trailer tent/folding camper outfit, twenty five years ago. He can only get away during school holidays which I tend to avoid like the plague but it`s a lovely suggestion and I`ll do my best to arrange something. With that being an exception rather than the rule, I too love to be on my own when camping and I`m fortunate that my wife doesn`t mind me going away by myself. It`s the coming home that she objects to. I love to go on long walks and follow long abandoned railway lines I find on ordnance survey maps. Back in the tent, I read avidly or relax listening to the radio. No TV or smartphone. If it`s a clear night, I`ll get the fire pit going, set up my telescope and explore the night sky with a nice, malt whisky to keep out the cold. It`s just so relaxing to do what you want to do when you want to do it, without having to consider anyone else. It sounds quite selfish when I read it back to myself but even in my seventies, life is still quite hectic. I find a couple of weeks away on my own the perfect escape.
Security concerns aside, I just do not wish to work to other people's itinerary/agenda when I go camping.
Meeting up in the morning to have breakfast and then decide on the day's activities?
No - on the days when I do not have any morning work-related meetings, I get up when I feel like it, or when my bladder or the dog's bladder cannot hold it any longer!
I am not going to renew my membership with a solo camping group. I have been a paid member for 2 years now and have followed their FB page, and concluded it is not for me.
Each to their own and all that.

Back to the OP’s original query.
CCC has regular small meets in Scotland: THSs (temporary holiday sites), plus Special Interest Group meets - you don’t need to be in that group, just be a CCC member. And DA (District Association) meets - you don’t need to be in that District. There’s an app specifically for these: called “out & about”.
Some of these needs on-board facilities, there’s always several stewards & the pitch fees are low.
