I have an explore 474 caravan , with a large one piece front window , the original cracked from the top hinge ,(out of warranty) the replacement also now out of warranty done the same ( £950 + delivery again) as anybody heard or knows if this can be converted into a 3 window set up, with a fixed in the middle, i realise that additional frame would be required l am a carpenter so not too concerned about the wood work etc, just how to possibly get windows to fit the same size opening, just the beginning of the problem solving venture.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I think that most vans that had one large window had models with three, it was probably cheaper to build them only one. They don't have the same inherent strength of three smaller individual ones.
Yes, being a carpenter would help with the frame making but the problem is that the original outer caravan front won't have the required cut outs for a three frame window. Perhaps there is a way to manufacture something suitable but I don't know how.

Dave.

Hi Dave thanks for your reply , the more i think about this problem other issues arise, maybe just has well go for another one piece window ,
Expensive?.
I had a crazy idea, "flat white panel" , but might look completely wrong, this will be the third window, getting towards the 3 grand mark.
