Well folks.
Just a little heads up for anyone interested.
Had a few weeks down in the New forest. All great apart from Fridge freezer Not working. Checked fuse, + gas Ok.   (Or so I thought) mobile tech come out for a look!! quick multi meter check showing no 12v.
Guy looked at fuse, said that's the problem! surprise I had checked fuse!! he pulled a different fuse to the one I had checked.
Would you believe it..15 fuses in line top to bottom.
I checked the one marked fridge freezer around the centre of the panel. Turns out there is another one at the top of the panel also marked fridge freezer
School boy error, I suppose check all fuses, don't assume there is only one for the appliance.
Lesson learned.
👌👌👌👍........

Interesting. I wonder why there are two fuses to one appliance. Did the mobile technician say why the fridge freezer needs two fuses?

That's because there are typically TWO 12v supplies to the fridge, one is for the control panel that manages ALL 3 power sources and comes from the leisure battery, the other is the 12V supply from the tow vehicle/MH engine that powers the 12v cooling element. AFAIK all modern fridges will only work (on any power source) when the 12v control panel supply is present.

Would the same apply to older caravan fridges as well?
Ours doesn't have a digital display, just the two manual dials, one for the power setting and the other for the temperature setting.

I don't think it did Tango. They were much simpler then.

Thanks for your reply. I can't recall seeing 2 fuses for the fridge that's why I asked but like you say, things were much simpler back then which all of the electrics in our caravan are just a simple On/Off switch. Nothing digital apart from the radio/CD player.
