hello again.

when i use the blow air heating in my hobby caravan . it usually takes around 15 mins for the air to actually blow warm. is this normal. also the the heating vent in loo is at the end of the heating line and never blows warm even when the other vents are fine. our heating ducting passes through a truma tt2 water heater then into the loo, could this be the causing the problem.

What type of blown air system do you have, is there a fire in the van, or is it a concealed unit??

probably not, its just the end of the line.
What speed do you put the blown air on? 3 is about the max I find on electric.
check the routing of the duct, its not unusual for some makers to crush the ducting, or rout it externally which wont help heat or flow.

the hobby heating system is gas only, with an electric fan that draws the heat into ducting, there is no electric heating element.

Not a set up I'm personally familiar with, but basic laws of physics dictate that if the Truma TT2 unit is leaching heat out of the hot air input to heat the water within, then the air expelled will be cooled until such time as the water reaches an equilibrium temp (about 50 min according to blurb), then the expelled air should be similar temp to incoming air. It very much depends on how efficient the unit is at extracting heat from air as to how cool the expelled air will be.

The claimed 65C water temp seems improbably high considering the input air would likely need to be 85-90C to obtain that - AND you wouldn't want air at that temp being expelled from vents, that's dangerously high!!!! The TT2 unit has a mains electric heater element (only 300W though) that should both heat the water and reduce the heat leached out of the hot incoming air, so using that may give you hot air in your loo.

On my hot air/water heater system (Truma Combi) I get lovely warm air in my end bathroom in my largish 4 berth van, but it does take a little tweaking of the vent flaps in main room of van to balance the volume of air to that of the closer vents to the heater unit, that's just overcoming the flow losses caused by length of ducting to bathroom. I'm getting warm air blowing out of all vents in probably less than 5 minutes, and hot (as hot as it gets anyway) in 10 min or so. That's on a different system, so of limited use to you, but an example of what a hot air system can do.

I always think our heating system does not like working if the van is cold. As soon as you do gradually start to feel comfortable, we hear the fan suddenly start up. Much prefer the portable fan heater (normally we are on EHU) it warms the van in a few moments.
