Hi all I have a senator series 5 Arizona and I have major damp and rot in a wall and roof to the point cupboards have come away on one side. I have managed to get one set of the lockers off but the front half with the stereo in is proving tricky. Is this a whole unit that wraps around? or will it come off individually. Any tips as how to get back on? I was thinking of gluing baton where brackets fit and replying over. Thanks in advance guys

I hate to say it, but they tended to build caravans from the inside out. Chassis and floor, then furniture and cupboards etc with wires and pipes behind then lastly add the walls.

Google Bailey factory videos on youtube and you may see it.

As said caravans are built from the inside furniture first and then outside panel fitted, so you may find it has been fixed from the outside before the outer panel fitted. If so you may need to try and gently prize it away and then when repair done re fix from the inside. If you look on YouTube you will find videos showing caravans being assembled.

I had a small water ingress in my Series 7 Pageant Burgundy, it was where the ABS front, roof and nearside wall converge, that resulted in me having to remove the top lockers from the front to the door to access the area to work on.

I found some of the fixings were difficult to access or even see at first inspection so get a mirror and look at places that you can't see into, plus there were one or two that had been fitted from the outside before the wall went on.

The tricky part was locating them, for this I used a very thin blade that I could slide between the wall and the frame. By sliding it around I could hear when it hit a screw shaft, I marked the position and very carefully cut through them with a hacksaw blade on my multitool. Refitting the lockers I used a couple of very small brackets instead, no big deal that they weren't hidden.

The initial problem turned out to be a mild steel screw under the awning rail, it had been put in instead of a stainless one so when it rotted it left an increasingly larger hole for the water to get in. I resealed the roof strap and awning rail too. Not difficult or expensive but time consuming so good luck.

Dave.

Thanks for replies I've managed to get around it. Any tips for sorting sagging roof bars stripping the whole thing out I was thinking of running a baton across the breadth but how would I raise it? Would it even raise it back?
