Hi, I have a 1995 Swift Corniche Classic caravan with a Henry water heater installed, which I believe is more or less the same as the Cascade 2 heater.
I have had problems getting the water heater to work using the gas supply. When I bought the caravan a few months ago it worked first time and I had no problems with it. It works on mains fine and I haven't had to use it on gas until a few weeks ago. This time I pressed the on button and the green light came on but about 8 seconds later I heard another click and the red light came on, and it failed to ignite. I have made several attempts since then, with no joy. I have checked the gas supply and actually lit it manually and it worked. I have also checked the pressure. It appears that there is no ignition spark during the switching on sequence. Is this fixable or do I need a new module, and if so can anyone recommend a supplier of reconditioned Henry modules?
No the Henry does not have a cover that needs removing before it works, that's applies to Truma water heaters only.
And No, sadly I can't repair the burner module and don't particularly want anything to do with Henrys
Thanks everyone for your replies. Gary, is there any particular reason why you don't want anything to do with Henrys? I thought they were much the same as the Cascade 2? Could we replace the whole thing with a Cascade 2?
Henry's just look the same on the outside, although some of the parts are compatible the heater module isn't although I believe it will fit but won't work Leisure Shop Direct do a replacement heater module for the Henry.
The Henry was intended to be the direct replacement for the Carver, so a used Carver will fit in place of a Henry (you must change the controller as well)...It IS a Henry controller that is with it isn't it?.
Personally if it were me and I was intending on keeping the caravan I'd upgrade to a Propex Malaga water heater

Yesterday took the burner module out and had a look inside. Checked the fuse, which is ok. Couldn't see anything particularly that looked wrong, however it is a circuit board and who knows? Put it all back together again. Tried the electronic switch-on sequence again and nothing - no spark at all but power is definitely getting there because we hear it click. Pressed the on button again and lit the burner with a match - works then, but can't be doing that every time we have to rely on gas. Everything was bone dry and there is no evidence of damp or water in the unit at all.
We can get a new burner module easily enough and replace it ourselves but we are very worried we may waste our money and the same thing will happen. Has anyone any other ideas as to why there is no spark? Can we do anything else other than replace the burner module? Have tried to get in touch with Henry Heaters and their suppliers but no one ever returns my calls (get an ansaphone every time) and no one responds to emails. The dealer where we bought the caravan from have, to their credit, offered to take a look at it for us and replace it if necessary (there was no warranty so we would have to pay for it), but to be honest we can do that ourselves as I can't imagine them looking too hard, they will just put a new one in.
Thanks Michael. That's actually a very good price. I managed to get hold of a supplier who is ringing me with a price tomorrow, so I will compare the two. He suggests changing the burner module and the panel switch too, which should solve the problem. Let's hope so!
May work out cheaper than buying the two seperately.

What can I say? the Henry was intended as a direct replacement and in many respects it is, except they identically copied the rather poor 99/2000 Truma copy of the Cascade!! yes a long story attached to that?
The module itself though is/should be a cracking piece of kit, I should know, I did a great deal of unpaid work re-designing it!
And that's the rub, Unpaid! never received as much as a red cent and why I jumped ship before I'd finished ironing out the rest of the faults...so that's the reason why I won't have anything to do with the Henry nor would it be wise to recommend it?!
Having said that, I do have one or two brand new, (old stock), Henry modules for sale.
Also, I do know what may well have caused the spark to fail and I'll fix that before you get it.
You'll need to contact me direct and I'll be a lot cheaper than any price you find anywhere?!
Thanks very much Gary. My husband has now replaced the burner module and, hey presto, it works!! We didn't need to replace the panel switch, but obviously will keep the new one as a spare. Thank you once again and everyone else for their suggestions and advice. Cheers!
