On a different forum a 2016 Lunar Clubman owner has posted that at a recent service only the floor was damp tested. Apparently the material used for the walls and ceiling cannot be tested using a conventional Damp Meter.
The walls and ceiling are designed to turn blue when damp.
Damp was detected two years ago in my 2016 Clubman, near the front window, by a mobile service chap using a damp meter.
I have a damp meter and often test my van, am i wasting my time?
I've got a 2016 Lunar that I've had for 5 years and that's the first I've ever heard of this!
I regularly check mine with a 'Pin-less' meter and get 'appropriate' readings that tally with the readings taken by my trained, qualified, and highly rated (Approved Workshop Scheme(AWS)) service engineer, using his high end professional meter.
This sounds like total tosh, or someone has completely misunderstood what they have been told.
Yes, the walls should not be tested with a pinned meter because of the damage to wall coverings, yes damp can cause discolouration (often blue-black) from the mould that develops, but AFAIK that's it.
Plenty of posts around from people suffering leaks from around the toilet unit and the coloured toilet fluid staining the walls, but that's nothing to do with the wall material.
Having wall/ceiling material turning blue when damp would be disastrous in a caravan, think of all the cold damp months they spend in storage when unused, and the steam from cooking or showers, it'd look like Smurf town almost from new without a leak in sight!
This is interesting as my husband enquired about a caravan at Highbridge caravans in Somerset but was told that there was a damp issue with it. He says he was also told that Lunar caravans have walls etc that turn blue if damp. I googled this and it appears there may be something in this, possibly only on newer vans, maybe 2017 is onwards.
Now he's seen another van but from a mainly car sales place which is also a Lunar. I'm very unsure as don't want to swap what we already have to find we've potentially bought a duff one but my husband reckons now that as it will show blue if damp there's nothing to worry about, it's a 2012 so may not have this 'blue' feature anyway. Me? I'm very nervous about change and find it stressful.

Sounds a load of rubbish. There must be a lot of blue internal lunars if true as they were branded leaky lunars and so many warranty claims they went bust.
