We have a 2007 Bessacar Cameo 525. I noticed in the frosty weather on locking the door it would unlock as I went to remove the key. It is still tending to do this - I can jiggle the key out and the lock stays locked.
Any thoughts - I am wary of oiling it!
My advice would be to spray some WD40 into the lock barrel and also on the key itself as the barrel may be a bit stiff due to lack of use during the winter.
On the actual lock barrel, I'd be more inclined to use a 'dry' lubricant like silicone or PTFE rather than an 'oily' (standard WD40 etc.) one that stays 'wet' and tends to cause dirt to stick, which can cause future problems in things like the the delicate innards of lock barrels.
Sounds like the entire locking mechanism has suffered some wear and is also a little stiff, causing slightly out of synchronised operation of the electrics (lock position switches) in relation to the mechanics (lock barrel). It may be necessary to get some lubricant onto the entire linkage to ensure free movement. If you are lucky, sometimes you can find a gap or remove a bung to get the 'straw' of an aerosol can into the right area to dose the mechanism without having to remove door trim panels to get access.
