I’ve just struggled to get my caravan rear light clusters off. All 8 spun and the black plastic shroud failed to grip the caravan body. The shroud was all twisted and deformed. They are M4x35 8mm grommets. Is there a bigger size that I should be using? I’m not refitting these. The Caravan is an Elddis Typhoon and from about 2000. As this is an old caravan is there only so many you should remove the grommets?

I think you need a new set of fittings, have a look on ebay for item number 224153694569. The seller sells other sizes too.

Try these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01AQO4K1O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have used them on an Elddis and can recommend them

Those rub nuts look shorter than the ones I've struggled to remove. I will order some and see how they work.
