Nice people!!
I think you will just have to bite the bullet and pull the cassette. Do it somewhere that can be hosed down easily. Then hose out the cassette housing and disinfect everything.
Is it possible that the hirers didn't know the toilet needed to be emptied or how to do it? If they are only used to house toilets, and they weren't shown, may be not. If they were shown however, I certainly wouldn't be hiring to them again!
As has been said, removing the cassette and cleaning up the resulting mess is probably the only way now.
At risk of making a mess of the area where the cassette is stored which would be difficult to clean due to the recesses, nooks and crannies etc., I would probably soak the liquid up with lots of toilet papers before binning them.
Whatever you decide to do, it will not be pleasant, so good luck!

yes throwing 3 or 4 toilet rolls into the bowl will help long enough to remove the cassette and get bucket under while you clean the resulting mess.
perhaps in future tho something written into the contract which they have to sign stating that they have been instructed on the cleaning of the toilet, and on the return of the motorhome the first thing you do is to go and check the toilet before they leave, i pressume they have left their car in your locked car park? which they wont be able to leave until the toilet has been either checked or dealt with
I think I'd invest in a turkey baster to start removing the fluids & empty into a suitable container which can be rinsed before disposal.
I think DK is absolutely right, it would be almost impossible to clean the cassette storage area if you just remove the cassette....& you'd probably never get rid of the smell
Good luck
p.s. buy another turkey baster before next Christmas!
Use a big syringe or similar to empty the top down below the level of the flap into a container then pull the cassette. Clean round with Milton fluid or disinfectant.
Don't rent to them again!

Blade has to be closed to pull out cassette so contents of bowl should be contained while cassette is pulled out & emptied. Replace cassette then open blade & drop contents of bowl into cassette. Flush clean & disinfect & empty cassette again. Shouldn’t be too much mess to clean up.

NO! The blade is part of the cassette, NOT THE BOWL!
If you attempt to do it as suggested you'll have an almighty mess to clean up!
Mine appears not to form a complete barrier, and residual rinse water and bowl spray always sip through.
For this reason, I have never taken the cassette out immediately after flushing to be on the safe side.

Billy isn't the blade in the cassette and not in the toilet housing?
I would try emptying it down to as far as possible with a small jug such as the plastic ones in the pound shops. Just bin it when finished. I can imagine a turkey baster getting blocked with 'bits'

Yes. Thinking about it you are right. Once cassette is pulled out you just have a hole. So just bale out bowl as suggested. Tbf the mess is organic so not that bad. Once emptied clean the whole lot with bucket of water sponge & plenty of spray disinfectant.
Last year a couple in a van next to us had the same problem.
It was an old van and their first outing in it, they had bought it from a friend who left the cassette full and the bowl was half full because they didn't know any different and kept using it.
I showed them how to open the access door and the cavity was walled up flush with dried brown mess which had to be prodded out before you could even see the cassette so it was rubber gloves time.
The boyfriend who was laid up with gout was on the phone to his "friend" while his girlfriend and I spent an hour with the toilet. What fun
I have absolutely no sense of smell and that is not always a bad thing
