We have had our caravan serviced and we found very high levels of water at the back. This was floor level. Walls and top are fine. The service man needs to come back as we need new tyres. We have had a look and think it’s possible awning skirt or this that I have taken a photo of. We have covered the van for a full 24hours but still seems to be getting wetter. Any ideas?? Hi and welcome to the forum. That is a piece of hertzim strip that is notorious for causing rain water to get onto the underfloor ply and keep wetting it. My advice is to remove the screw on each side and cut them back so that it just dangles down vertically a couple of inches, this will allow the rain water to drop off onto the ground harmlessly. There could be other issues but this is an easy fix to see how it clears the wetting problem.

Thank you Dave. Exactly what I was thinking I needed to do. We plan to redo all the rails this year and seal once weather is dryer. As we are new to caravaning just wanted to check. We’re going to cut. Take screw out and cover with duct tape. Wait to dry and then fill properly. Let’s hope that sorts it for now. I’m worried the floor is very wet. But need to think and be practical. The caravan is best decision we’ve made for our family so this fix will be worth it. Once dry I will take to damp person if we need to.
