Hi I'm new here and a first time buyer. I have recently bought an 1987 award daystar 2 birth caravan, every thing looked great when I purchased it, upon recent discovery when I have taken a closer look when I got it home there is quite a bit of damp and I have found out where it has come from the only issue I have now is I have to remove the top shelves I have removed all screws but they are still not budging any advice on how to remove the shelves without breaking them if possible and if I have to break them where could I get replacements cheap thank you in advance.
Hi Kevin and welcome to the forum.
I had to remove some overhead lockers and shelves in my 2009 van a couple of years ago and it wasn't as straightforward as it looked either. It turned out that one or two screws had been inserted from the the outside before final assembly and other items were attached by rivets.
If you can slide something like a thin steel ruler behind the shelf it you may be able to determine if yours is the same. If so, carefully cut the screw shaft with a bit of hacksaw blade or a multitool saw.

Caravans are often constructed from the outside in, with furniture attached from the outside and then the outside aluminium skin being put on. As Dave says it can be difficult to remove some things from the inside, so you have to cut through the screws that have been screwed in from outside.
