The bearings on our 1978 Cotswold Windrush caravan need replacing. Would anyone know what bearings we need and where to get them?
Thanks

Welcome to UKCS. I googled your question & up came a number of bearings websites: try phoning or email. And / or there might be an owners club where this question has been asked before: I’ve found the one for our MH make to be very useful.

Hi, your caravan is probably built on a B&B chassis, with adjustable taper bearings. In which case you could measure diameter of brake drum and google search Bearingboys they may be able to help. Or having removed the drum clean off both inner and outer bearing and seal so that you can read makers name and number then you can quote this number to bearing suppliers who have cross reference charts to get your bearings

Thanks Albee,
That's the kind of info I was looking for. I'm not at all mechanically minded but I have a neighbour that can help me out now I have that information.

Look for the ID number on the bearing, probably etched on the edge of the outer race.

This will enable any decent bearing supplier to identify them, diameters & sizes etc.

That should a produce a match for your job.

Ha, ha,.... thank you. Hope my input helps.

If you need a new bearing seal same applies, take it to a decent seal supplier and they should be able to match it up for you from the dimensions.
