Hi. I am new to the group and wondered if anyone could advise me. I have a 2007 Sterling Eccles Moonstone with a Truma Ultraheat heater. When the heater is cold the fan works fine but when heat is turned on (500, 1000 or 2000) the fan starts to make a catching/grating sound and then stops altogether. Any advice and/or recommendations welcomed. Thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum. It sounds to me like the fan blades are a bit too close to the casing and therefore when they get hot they expand just enough to foul on the fan casing or a build-up of fluff/debris.
The fan is mounted behind the fire where it's difficult to get at. It is held on by three screws that only need to be lossened enough for the unit to be rotated, they are in a slot with the larger opening at the end allowing the screws to pass through. Also check that the fan rotates freely and it's not seizing.
