I guess where you'll find the difference John is that now you have the van you'll do more cold weather camping and the days are shorter and often wetter, we've never taken the tele as the main source of entertainment but it can sometimes be an alternative to the english weather.
had sky tv (all 12v) in the caravan for over 5 years now and works well, at home and abroad.
bought freeview last weekend (Phillips 12v) to try, and that worked well on the status arial. Though it would be handy for weekends when all we want to use the tv for is the news/weather. Can still set up the sky system if freeview not available.
All this came about because I got a usb freeview device for my laptop, which not only workes in the caravan, but alows programs to be recorded (on to the hard drive) when we are not there. Also, I must confess, I do like gadgets.
Hi still using the 15 inch that I posted about last Year, and no probs but since changing to a larger caravan we feel we could stand the 17 inch as we intend to use the van in the Winter anyone know how much the 17 inch is and if it can be bought on line as we only have Currys etc here.
We didn't get on well with Freeview in the van and have found Sky Free to view a better option perfect picture everytime whereever you go, picked up a box at a good price on Ebay and a dish etc we really hope to travel a bit further afield this Winter maybe for several weeks at a time so might need a bigger dish for that it is nice to have a change from typical package Hols with all the home comforts should you want them.

------------- 'A motorhome is for life, not just for Summer'
Hi, I was in Tesco,s the other day & they had several freeview boxes from £22 up to £50. I think the cheapest was either an Amstrad or a Beko. I,ve never took a TV camping before. But now my girls are getting older it might be usefull to keep them quiet & out the way during the long summer nights in the awning. So we can actually relax and have a drink with friends without having to keep a beady on what the kids are up to !!!!
Regards THUMPER.
