Yes - I have lifted the lino and no they do not go through. these are just very small random patches under the van where the protective coating has come away.
As AdamW said 'maybe where there were bubbles in the undercoating when sprayed off and have now flaked off'
Looks like good weather today, so I will get underneath and take a good look and then cover them with some kind of undersal paint.
With the great weather today I decided to have agood look under the van at these spots. It seems that AdamW was correct and it has been caused by Knots in the ply that has caused the protective paint to flake off.
I will get some protective paint and cover them over, but I don't think it is urgent.
