If it's the old split pin and nut then no it doesn't have to be torqued up but if it's the newer one shot nuts then a new nut is required and torquing it to 280Nm

i too have an abi marauder 1995. will this have the alko one shot nut? if it has can we still take off the cover to inspect the state of the shoes?
or does the cover hold on with the one shot nut and need torqueing up with the correct setting?
