silly question from a novice, read all of the above and got the idea how to proceed ok but wondered about lifting what looks like laminate flooring but not sure if it is. We have a Bailey Pagaent Champagne 2009. Can you just drill straight through or does this covering need to be removed.

I am wondering if the 'laminated' floor is ply with a wood like finish or is it a laminated floor with a gap and then the ply. Basically I am debating if I just remove the carpet and drill straight into the wood effect floor or do I try and lift whatever it is and then drill. My apologies for the confusion

Hi woody, your's is the same as mine, when you lift the carpet you see a wooden block floor underneath. The 'laminated blocks' are just impressed into the laminate to look like wood, the actual plywood is underneath it. I cut out the area that I wanted to remove by using the staggered block shapes as a guide, it helped to hide the cuts when it went down again.

Yeah sorry woody the above is right, some people have removed the wood effect laminate so it straight plywood then fit a new covering the choice is yours. Once it had removed my Lino I had a ply floor so I fitted a new carpet instead.
