And, as I have said before, after carefully coiling up the excess power cable they carefully stow it right under the gas locker!

Coiled cable is what would be called 'grouped' as the heat from one turn passes into the other cables. The regs have grouping factors to be applied to the current rating. For 8 cables it is 0.52.

So a 20 Amp cable with 8 coils can only carry 20 x 0.52 = 10.4 Amps.

It continues to get worse with more coils.
