Hi 664,

Thanks for the information, at least I now know who the manufacturer is of the Nanavan.

I have searched for Ace Rallyman and there is nothing on the 'fixed it club', did search using the forever button, but still nothing. I have posted a 'New Topic' and will hopefully hear from some other poor mortal who has had a bit of a job!

Pickled Onion, thanks, I managed to use the link you added (then followed 664 instructions as above). Tools I can beg, borrow or steel, will obviously need the wood and a little more confidence to tackle a whole wall, currently a bit overwhelmed by the thought. I am tenacious by nature, but need to get the bit between my teeth and, although they aren't false (yet), a bit more strength of character is required for me to cut wall panels, can't cut straight with scissors, let alone jigsaw.

Would love to add an insightful quote, maybe after a couple of drinks.

There is nothing wrong by being cautious, if fact it's much better than the gung ho approach.

My advice, if, you decide to go ahead with the work, (first bit is to stop water ingress that caused it, and you may need to dismantle stuff to gain access), try removing just a simple section of rotten panel back to sound wood and see the layout of things that need replacing, make a note how is assembled so that it goes back the same way. This will give you details and amounts of materials/costs to fix a known area and an idea of total costs for the rest. Wood for framing is fairly cheap but fancy wallboards are not, I got my off-cut from a guy who specialised in damp repairs for dealers who tend not to do the work themselves.

Take it easy with the dismantling, it should just fall apart if rotten, but DO NOT risk damaging the very thin aluminium skin.

Dave.
