Hi Sprouty

I have recently repaired a unit with the same symptoms, the cure was a new din lead (the internal wires on the din was shorting/broken)

Buy it from a caravan place circa £15 and a wait or.....

Under £5 from maplins for a 3.5 Mtr 5 pin male to male din lead.

I obviously cannot guaranteee that this will solve your problem, I can only say it did in my case.

The Black box unit underneath costs £99 to buy

Hi Gary

One is called a Din Plug and the other is called Mini Din

Din plugs are a standard size. No-one would get them mixed up when looking at them.

Shown below are the three that you would consider.

Thanks!

I thought there may be different ones, but with the obvious knowledge and courtesy one always receives I will endeavour to buy at least the correct Din plug then probably do something stupid and completely goose me water heater. (No I won't but chances are that I will forget to do something like connect the battery !!!!!!!!!)

being quoted a fortune to get the "burner module" replaced, i'm confused s to this and the "black box" so do i need both? this is more than the caravan was!

Do ARC systems do repairs and how much? we are Nr Nottinghan

Apparently not Michael !!

Yes I do repairs to all Carver products, (bar the movers), serviced exchange Burner Modules from me are £66 inclusive of postage.

Standard size Din plugs come in two different pin configurations type A or B, type B pins are closer together. Maplin sell both or did? that's where I got it from!!. not funny when you've travelled 15 miles, soldered it on only to find it don't fit!!!

Mini Dins are totally different

I have found the Instruction manuel at no cost - scanned pages from the manuel - very helpful - though there is a diagram with numbers but no key to the numbers.

Have fun ;-)
