Our van has 3 MCBs, one for the sockets and heater, one for the water heater and lights, and one for the fridge and charger. So it looks like water heater and space heater together is maybe not a good idea. The RCD covers all the circuits and also acts as a main switch.
The RCD is to protect against earth leakage, while the MCBs are the ones that trip if there is an overload.
